Active COVID Cases Back Down To Six

Chatham-Kent’s COVID stats continue to hover in the single digits.

Public Health has no new cases to report but has listed one as resolved, dipping the total active caseload back down to 6.

There is still one COVID patient being treated at the Health Alliance, and no active outbreaks in the community.

As far as CK’s vaccination rate goes, 68% of residents 12 and older have received at least their first dose, while 23% are now fully vaccinated with both shots.

Province-wide, the Ministry of Health is reporting 296 new cases today, although the numbers are higher than expected because of a data review with as many as 80 cases dating back to 2020. Today’s report also includes 60 deaths linked to the virus, but officials say because of a separate data clean-up, 54 of those are from previous months.
