The province is stepping up to help following last month’s gas leak in Wheatley.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is launching an investigation to identify the source of the hydrogen sulphide detected on Erie Street North, and what might be done in terms of mitigating it in the future.

The province say they will share additional information with the municipality and the public as it becomes available.

In the meantime, the emergency declaration remains in place at 15 Erie Street North and gas monitoring has been maintained at the site.

There has been no gas detected since the last report on July 19th.
