Doors Open Includes CK’s Black History

School house at Buxton National Historic Site

Chatham-Kent’s black history will be in the virtual spotlight as part of this year’s Doors Open Ontario.

Traditionally an in-person event held in communities across the province, the festival is taking place online once again this year.

A number of sites across the province are being featured, including the Buxton National Historic Site and Museum, Chatham-Kent Black Historical Society and Black Mecca Museum, and Uncle Tom’s Cabin, with tours, videos, and activities.

This year’s Doors Open also includes some virtual activities and games from the Art Gallery of Ontario, Stratford Festival, and Burlington’s Royal Botanical Gardens.
