Provincial & Local COVID Numbers Rise

Chatham-Kent Public Health is reporting two new cases of COVID-19 today, raising the total active caseload to 11.

Vaccination rates continue to inch up as well as Public Health focuses on mobile and pop-up clinics around the community. 76% of CK residents 12 and older have received at least one dose of vaccine, while 68% have been given both shots.

A jump in COVID numbers across Ontario today. The province is reporting 513 new cases today – 360 of those have not yet been fully vaccinated.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says the more important number is hospitalizations – 113 people are being treated for COVID-19 in ICUs province-wide, 111, just two of those patients are fully vaccinated.
