A 32 year old Wallaceburg woman, charged in connection with a protest against COVID-19 restrictions last fall in Chatham, made a brief virtual court appearance Wednesday.

She is charged with failing to comply with the Reopening Ontario Act.

The rally, November 21st at Tecumseh Park included a march through downtown with over 100 people involved.

There have been resolution talks, but a pre-trial hearing will be required with her next appearance set for September 27th.

If convicted, the fine could range from $10,000 to $100,000 with up to a year in jail.

The accused will return to court next month.
