A special fundraiser aims to bring family and friends together with some online fun.
Spokesperson Randi Bokor-Caron says tonight’s Hearts Together for CK Hospice is a live-stream fundraiser with a mix of interactive games and heartfelt stories about hospice care.
“There’s going to be some messages from our hospice staff and some volunteers, and then we’re going to hear a really beautiful hospice heart story from our local Vavoulis family,” Bokor-Caron says. “The games will be lighthearted, but there’s also always the opportunity for why we do this and what’s so important about hospice in Chatham-Kent.”
All funds raised support the day-to-day operation of Hospice. The organization gets 45% of its operating budget from the Ministry of Health, the rest comes from community donations.
The goal for this evening’s fundraiser is $110,000, the cost of one month of hospice care.
