Casino Revenues Handed Over to CK

It’s that time of year again when the municipality scores a big win at the casino.

Four times a year the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation cuts a cheque to municipalities hosting the provincially operated casinos. The latest payment for $338,823 covers the period from July 1st to September 30th.

The cheque is somewhat less than usual because casinos were shut down for months during the pandemic, and then only reopening to limited capacity.

Since April 2001, Chatham-Kent has received $14-million in non-tax gaming revenue.

The money goes to various community projects around CK.
