Ontario has lifted all capacity limits for outdoor organized public events, including memorial services such as Remembrance Day services, and parades.
Chatham-Kent’s Chief Medical Officer likes the move.
“There is a recognition among experts that outdoor transmission is much, much less of a risk than indoor transmission,” Dr. David Colby. “The idea of adopting a more permissive approach for more outdoor events is science-based.”
Masks will still be mandatory where social distancing can’t be maintained.
The loosened restrictions, which go into effect immediately, also apply to outdoor areas of fairs, rural expos, and festivals, among other things.
Outdoor social gatherings, as opposed to organized public events, are still limited to 100 people.
