Marking Treaties Week at Local Schools

Treaties between Canada’s Indigenous population and local communities play a major role in the groups community partnerships.

This is Treaties week, an annual event that allows students and staff from the St. Clair Catholic and Lambton-Kent District School Boards to delve into treaties and their affects on the various local communities.

Live sessions with a host of local leaders allows for a look at the treaty system from the Indigenous point of view and from a whole other perspective.

Students and staff from kindergarten through grade 12 will take part in live discussions to learn more.

Understanding the process will go a long way towards taking action towards truth and Reconciliation.
