The province is unveiling its plans for COVID booster shots across Ontario.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kieran Moore is holding a news conference at 1 o’clock this afternoon to announce the roll-out.
According to guidance from the National Advisory Committee on Immunization, anyone over the age of 70 would be eligible for a third dose, along with those who received two doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, and anyone at increased risk of severe illness and the highest risk of waning protection.
Meantime, some Walpole Island residents can now book their COVID booster.
Officials say any First Nations residents 18 and older who got their second shot before May 9th, 2021 are now eligible for a third dose.
Appointments can be scheduled at the Walpole Island Health Centre.
