Charges have been laid following a break in earlier this week in Chatham.
Officers responded to a King Street West business around 5 o’clock Monday morning and say a man forced his way in, smashed a bottle of alcohol, and stole several others.
An observant passerby helped police identify the accused.
The 31-year-old was tracked down on Wellington Street a short time later, and has since been charged with break and enter while committing a theft, and mischief under $5000.
