Charges Laid For Passing a School Bus

Charges have been laid following complaints about drivers not stopping for school buses in Wallaceburg.

The Chatham-Kent Police traffic unit set up shop on Murray Street near near Holy Family School this week.

As a result, one 55-year-old Wallaceburg man was pulled over and charged with not stopping for a school bus and driving without a license. His vehicle was towed from the scene.

Chatham-Kent Police Services remind drivers that children’s safety is a shared responsibility.

The penalty is a $490 dollar fine and six demerit points.
