Wallaceburg said goodbye to its Mr. Lacrosse on Saturday.
Bill MacArthur first came to Wallaceburg in the 1950s to work on the construction of the Lord Selkirk Bridge and play lacrosse. An accomplished lacrosse player, he then moved into coaching and played a huge role in making Wallaceburg lacrosse teams into provincial powerhouses.
Although he made his name in lacrosse, MacArthur was a faithful supporter of other Wallaceburg sporting organizations and was inducted as an athlete into the Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.
McArthur died on November 24th, with a funeral held this past Saturday.
