An attempted murder charge has been laid following a late night shooting in Wallaceburg over the weekend.

Emergency crews were called to a disturbance in a Wallace Street apartment parking lot around 11 o’clock Sunday night and say two men got into a fight, leaving a 33-year-old with serious but non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim was taken to hospital in Wallaceburg and later transferred to Windsor for further medical attention.

Monday night, a 27-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested in Windsor. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
