A group of local realtors is stuffing stockings with goodies in the hopes of raising money for those affected by dementia.

Nest Realty has launched its Dreaming of a Blue Christmas raffle fundraiser, with the proceeds being donated to the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent (ASCK).

With over 3,000 Chatham-Kent residents currently affected by dementia, the realty group hopes to shine a light on the work being done by ASCK.

“Care partners can find the experience of caring for someone with dementia to be isolating,” ASCK said in a news release. “[This fundraiser] reassures those care partners that they are not alone, especially during this holiday season.”

Anyone can buy raffle tickets for the chance to win one of three stockings jammed full of gift certificates and other items from Wooly Doodle, Centro, Retro Suites, and Links of Kent among others. The total value of the stockings is over $3,000.

Last year, Nest Realty raised over $13,000 for ASCK in the group’s first raffle draw entitled Go Blue or Go Home.

Each ticket is $10 or three for $20, and the draw for the prizes will be held on December 20 during a live-streamed event. There is also a chance to win a Christmas tree from Sloans Christmas Village during an early bird draw on December 8.
