The Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team is calling on local residents to do their part to limit the spread of COVID-19 and help ease the strain on the local health care system.
Earlier this week, Chatham-Kent’s medical officer Dr. David Colby announced tighter restrictions for indoor gatherings and religious services to prevent any further spread of the virus, and with 15 COVID patients in care, the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance has modified its visitor policy.
Officials with the Ontario Health Team also say EMS call volume is up 5% with an average of two COVID-positive patients being seen by paramedics per day over the last week.
Residents are asked to do their part to help ease the burden by following public health guidance, staying home when not feeling well, and making use of primary care services when necessary for early detection and care.
