Just ten days before the Christmas holiday, the Canadian government has issued a travel advisory against all non-essential international travel.

Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos announced the advisory on Wednesday and cited the rapid global spread of COVID-19 and the Omicron variant.

He added that travellers take the risk of being stranded should Canada and other countries continue to change travel restrictions.
