New funding will help the YMCA recover and rebuild from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario is the recipient of a $149,700 Ontario Trillium Foundation grant.

The money is meant to support fundraising initiatives and implement member-focused technology to allow for a more personalized experience for its members and participants.

“As we recover from the pandemic – we are more driven than ever to serve our communities and their changing needs,” said Andrew Lockie, CEO of YMCA of Southwestern Ontario. “With this funding we are able to adapt key communications and fundraising tools to support the recovery of our Y and to keep our community strong, healthy and thriving.”

The YMCA operates 15 health, fitness and aquatics centres and provides Children’s Educational Services at over 115 locations throughout Southwestern Ontario, including Chatham-Kent.
