Charges have been laid following an incident in downtown Wallaceburg.
Saturday afternoon, a man walked into a James Street business and allegedly tried to steal various items. According to police, the accused was confronted by store staff, but assaulted them while trying to get away.
The suspect is said to have put up a fight even after officers arrived, but was eventually taken into custody.
The 31-year-old is charged with theft, possession of stolen property, mischief, assault, and resisting arrest.
