CK Marks its 36th COVID Death

Another Chatham-Kent resident has passed away from COVID-19 – the second this week. 

Public Health officials say a man in his 70s passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, 

36 local residents have now lost their lives to the virus since the pandemic began. 

There are currently 18 local residents being treated for the virus at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. 

Two more outbreaks have been declared – seven cases linked to a group home and eight at Village on the Ridge long term care facility in Ridgetown.

In all, public health is keeping tabs on outbreaks in six congregate living settings, eight long term care and retirement homes, and the dialysis unit at the Health Alliance. 

The current seven-day rolling average case count is now 67.
