CKHA Adds Four New Doctors

Chatham-Kent’s hospital has added four new physicians to its team.

Dr. Samar Tabl, Dr. Brent Herrit, Dr. Juan Arminan Cordies, and Dr. Asad Naeem have joined the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

“Their skills, knowledge and expertise will enhance our delivery of patient and family-centred care,” said Dr. Pervez Faruqi, CKHA’s chief of staff in a news release.

Dr. Tabl worked for several years in Egypt as an anesthesiologist before moving to Canada where she worked for six years as an anesthesiologist at Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. She was also an assistant professor at the University of Saskatchewan and Queen’s University.

Dr. Herritt attended the Memorial University of Newfoundland to receive his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency and a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Cordies completed his Doctor of Medicine in Havana, Cuba, before completing a General Surgery Residency and an Upper GI/MIS/Bariatric Fellowship at the University of Calgary.

Dr. Naeem earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Catharines, before completing his Family Medicine Residency training at Southern Illinois University of Medicine.

Dr. Tabl is joining the Department of Anaesthesia, Dr. Herrit is assuming the role of head of the Intensive Care Unit, Dr. Cordies joins as a general surgeon, and Dr. Naeem is joining as a hospitalist.
