Community Living Chatham-Kent has unveiled this year’s Jonathan Daniel Stone Fund recipients.
The grants are handed out each year in memory of Daniel, who passed away in 2013 at the age of 11.
The fund supports initiatives that help children who’ve been diagnosed with autism or other diverse abilities, and their families.
This year’s recipients include Graceon Copland, a four year old boy who takes part in the Children’s Respite Program, and was given an iPad and educational tools to assist with communication.
10-year-old Aiden Day was given an iPad, noise-canceling headphones, and a keyboard to help with his communication skills and promote engagement with his peers.
And the father of Jack Blondeel, a seven-year-old in the Children’s Respite Program, received funding to take part in parent education services through the Learning and Behaviour Clinic and Pyramid Educational Consultants.
