CK Marks its 49th COVID Death

Yet another local resident has succumbed to COVID-19.

A Chatham-Kent man in his 60s reportedly passed away in a hospital outside of the municipality. There have now been 49 deaths caused by COVID-19 in Chatham-Kent since the pandemic began.

Chatham-Kent Public Health is reporting 29 new cases today with a seven-day rolling average of 46 cases per day.

There are still six active outbreaks, four at long-term care facilities and two group homes in the municipality.

At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, there are 19 patients with the virus being treated, nine of whom are in hospital because of the virus and 10 being treated for other ailments and have tested positive for COVID.

There are four COVID patients in the ICU and two in progressive care.
