Man Charged After Store Employees Threatened

A 29-year-old man is facing charges after causing a scene at a business in downtown Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said the man went to the King Street store on Tuesday and was asked to leave due to his behaviour. He complied but allegedly damaged property on his way out and verbally threatened two employees.

Police were called and officers located the man nearby.

The 29-year-old Chatham man was arrested and is now charged with mischief under $5,000 and uttering threats. He has been released with a future court date.
