COVID Cases Dip Slightly in CK

A slight dip in Chatham-Kent’s seven day average when it comes to new cases of COVID-19.

Public Health figures show the rolling average now sits at 31 cases a day, down from 33 on Friday.

71 new cases have been identified since the last update on Friday, however officials stress the confirmed cases is an underestimate of true COVID numbers with changes to testing requirements since the start of the year.

There are three active outbreaks across the municipality. There are now four linked cases in the medicine unit at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. That’s in addition to outbreaks in a group home and Village on the Ridge retirement residence in Ridgetown.

According to public health figures, there are 10 local residents being treated for COVID-19 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
