Chatham-Kent has hit another pandemic milestone, reaching a total of 6900 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the municipality since March, 2020.
CK Public Health is reporting 33 new cases today with a seven-day average of 21 cases a day.
There are five active outbreaks, including the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance medicine unit, three retirement homes, and a group home.
There are 19 COVID patients being treated at the Health Alliance today, five of whom were admitted because of the virus.
Two COVID patients are in critical care, one each in the hospital’s intensive and progressive care units.
Across Ontario, another 27 residents have died because of COVID-19.
There are 847 people with COVID in hospitals province-wide, 273 of which are in intensive care.
