A Merlin resident is the big winner of the CK Charity 50/50 Raffle in support of children and seniors in the Chatham-Kent community.

Tammy Howell purchased the winning ticket, which was drawn on Wednesday. Howell took home a jackpot of $46,685.

“I am not sure what I will do with the money. This is a great surprise! Maybe I will put it towards a new car,” said Tammy in a news release.

The other half of the money raised through the 50/50 draw will be divided between the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation and the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent.

The CK Charity 50/50 Raffle was launched at the beginning of the year with tickets being sold to more than 2,800 people.
