CK’s Numbers Dip on Two Year Pandemic Anniversary

On the two year anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic, as declared by the World Health Organization on March 11, 2020, Chatham-Kent’s numbers are on the decline.

Today’s report from CK Public Health includes 19 confirmed cases and a seven-day average of 11 new cases a day.

Two new outbreaks have been declared today, with three linked cases each at Tilbury Manor Nursing Home and a group home.

Active outbreaks continue at Maple City Retirement Residence, Wallaceburg Retirement Residence, and the medicine unit of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

There are 10 patients with COVID-19 at CKHA today, just three of whom are being treated primarily for the virus. One COVID patient remains in the hospital’s progressive care unit.

Across Ontario, there are 717 people hospitalized with COVID-18, 238 of whom are in intensive care.

Since the pandemic began, Chatham-Kent has recorded 7035 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 58 lives lost to the virus.
