Charges have been laid following a crash west of Wheatley that claimed two lives.
Just before 7 o’clock Friday morning, a pickup truck eastbound on County Road 34 crossed the centre line and sideswiped a utility van before colliding head-on with a sedan.
Two people in the sedan were killed. The victims have been identified as 30-year-old Jacqueline Steeman and 50-year-old Carrie Steeman.
The driver of the pickup, 22-year-old Jacob Fehr of Chatham-Kent, has now been charged with two counts of impaired driving causing death and two counts of driving while disqualified.
He was held in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing on Tuesday, March 22.
