Remembering a Long-Serving Police Inspector, Community Volunteer

Chatham-Kent lost a pillar of the community over the long weekend.

Tim Mifflin passed away on Friday at the age of 64.

Mifflin spent 32 years in policing, first with the Chatham Police Service, then helping to form what is now the Chatham-Kent Police Service, retiring as an Inspector in 2012. The year before his retirement, Mifflin was honoured with the BlackBerry Wireless Achievement Award for implementing the coordinated use of BlackBerry devices across the force.

He was also heavily involved in the Chatham Goodfellows for the past 30 years, 20 of those years on the board of directors.

Visitation will be held at Alexander & Houle Funeral Home in Chatham on Friday April 22nd, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted from the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday April 23rd, 2022, at 1 pm, and also streamed online on the funeral home’s website.
