Volunteers will be hitting the streets of Dresden this week as part of Operation Clean Sweep.

The Earth Week initiative is being organized by the Dresden and District Horticultural Society and Dresden Shines, encouraging community members to clean up litter and trash in parks, public spaces, sidewalks, around businesses, and rural roadways.

Gloves and garbage bags will be provided to cleanup crews and all COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed.

A large clean-up event is being planned for Earth Day on Friday, but organizers say participants can help any time during this week.

Everyone will be encouraged to “walk a block” and clean up their residential or business neighborhoods.
