Continued Support for the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent

More support for those living with dementia in Chatham-Kent.

The Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent recently received a $7500 grant from the Donna L’Ecuyer Foundation to help meet the growing demand for services.

“The ASCK relies heavily on donations such as that received from the Donna L’Ecuyer Foundation,” said Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent CEO Mary Ellen Parker. “We are extremely grateful that, year after year, this foundation grant is awarded to our organization to assist us in improving and increasing our program and services. Alzheimer disease and related dementias are on the rise as is evidenced by the increase in our referrals. We could not keep up without this support,”

The Donna L’Ecuyer Foundation has been providing financial support to local organizations throughout the years, including a decade’s worth of support for the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent.

“We all know someone who is affected by dementia and many of us need help navigating what lies ahead after the diagnosis of someone close to us,” says Foundation spokesperson Chris L’Ecuyer. “Through early intervention and support from the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent, we were able to navigate the health care system and learn to understand how to work with someone with dementia. Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent made an extremely difficult situation easier, and we are proud to help fund the great work of the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent.”

More than 1000 local residents and their families are supported through a variety of programs and services through the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent each year.
