An annual event in support of area residents living with dementia will kick off in Chatham-Kent this week.

The Walk for Alzheimer’s launches in Tilbury at Northside Park Trail at 5:30 this afternoon, before moving on to other communities across Chatham-Kent. The next walk will take place at Blenheim’s Be-Fit Trail on May 18, before moving on to Crothers Park Trail in Wallaceburg on May 25, and Chatham’s Kingston Park on May 28.

This year’s fundraising goal is $55,000 to support a variety of programs and services offered to more than 1000 clients and their families through the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent.

The event will also feature the Paint The Town Blue Scavenger Hunt on May 28 and 29, with various prizes up for grabs.
