Three More CK Lives Lost to COVID-19

Three more Chatham-Kent residents have lost their lives to COVID-19.

In its weekly update, CK Public Health says there have now been a total of 75 deaths across the municipality caused by the virus since the pandemic began.

147 high risk cases were identified the week of May 8th to the 14th, with a weekly average of 21 new cases a day.

The positivity rate in Chatham-Kent currently sits at 14.4%, compared to the provincial rate of 11.7%.

Eight new outbreaks have been reported in the last week, involving two congregate living settings, three group homes, two retirement homes, and the two outbreaks at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance

There are 21 COVID patients at the Health Alliance today, including one being treated in the hospital’s progressive care unit.
