As recruitment efforts continue, two new doctors are joining the staff at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
The organization has announced the addition of Dr. Lana Shaiba to the Paediatrics department, and Dr. Maria Andrievskaya in Critical Care.
“We are so pleased to welcome Drs. Shaiba and Andrievskaya to CKHA and the community of Chatham-Kent,” said Dr. Pervez Faruqi, Chief of Staff, CKHA. “Their skills, expertise and knowledge will make a positive impact on our delivery of safe, high quality care.”
Dr. Shaiba’s career has taken her across the globe and back, earning her medical degree in Saudi Arabia and completing her paediatric residency at the University of British Columbia. After completing a Fellowship at the University of Toronto, she went back overseas, mostly recently working as the head of Neonatology at the King Khalid University Hospital in Saudi Arabia. While working at CKHA, she also plans to become an Adjunct Professor at Western University.
Dr. Shaiba is now accepting patient referrals and is located at the Chatham-Kent Child and Adolescent Clinic, 202 King St. West in Chatham. Her office can be reached at 519-358-1880.
Dr. Andrievskaya began her medical education in Russia before moving to the US to train in New York and Michigan. She comes to CKHA by way of Windsor Regional Hospital where she is involved in the Critical Care Associate (CCA) and Protected Code Blue (PCB) programs.
