A tragic scene on the shores of Lake Erie.
Emergency crews were called to the shoreline in Leamington just before 2:30 Monday afternoon and say a 24-year-old man had been swimming with friends and failed to resurface.
Authorities say the man’s body was pulled from the water by civilian bystanders.
Paramedics continued to perform life-saving measures, but the victim was later pronounced dead in hospital.
The OPP have not released the victim’s name.
