A close call for police investigating a crash in Chatham Wednesday night.
Emergency crews were attending a collision on Grand Avenue East just before 11pm when another vehicle came speeding towards the scene and screeched to a halt just past the police blockade.
Officers spoke to the driver, and suspecting he may have been drinking, brought him to police headquarters for tests.
The 28-year-old has been charged with having a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit as well as offences under the Highway Traffic Act, Cannabis Control Act, and Liquor License Act.
He’ll have to face the charges in court July 12th.
