Officials at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance start the week with not one but two outbreaks of COVID-19 on their hands.
Friday afternoon, officials announced there had been four cases of health-care acquired COVID on the Medicine A unit on the 4th floor at the Chatham hospital.
That’s in addition to another outbreak in the Complex Continuing Care unit, also on the 4th floor, declared earlier in the week.
As part of CKHA’s pandemic response action plan and in alignment with the hospital’s infection prevention and control guidelines, a number of additional initiatives have been implemented in response to the outbreak on the Medicine A and CCC Unit. CKHA will continue following these measures until Chatham-Kent’s Medical Officer of Health rescinds the outbreak order.
