Researchers with the Northern Tornadoes Project have confirmed that a low-level tornado formed in the town of Wyoming early last week.

The research group, based at Western University in London, said a survey team was sent to the town after localized structural and tree damage was reported during a brief supercell thunderstorm on the evening of July 19.

Following the team’s investigation, the Northern Tornadoes Project has determined that the damage was caused by an EF0 tornado.

The tornado had an estimated wind speed of up to 125 km/h, a track length of 2.1 km, and a maximum path width of 200 metres.

No injuries were reported as a result of the storm.
