Municipal officials are encouraging local residents to explore the area’s trails.
August marks the return of the CK Trail Challenge, with weekly themes showing off the diversity of trails across Chatham-Kent and the chance to win prizes.
Week one will feature forested trails, perfect for casual strolls with the family and to explore. Week two will take you to scenic water views from Lake Erie to Lake St. Clair. Week three will have trails that weave through the suburbs and help you get around town without having to get in the car. Finally week 4 will feature trails that feature amenities for the whole family from parks and play equipment to public swimming pools.
A number of pop-up events are also being held, providing trail guides, cycling maps, and bike safety information.
Prizes included in the pack are reusable water bottles, drawstring bags, baseball hats, and sunglasses. You can also pick a free prize at your local library, a bike bell to keep you safe while out on the trails.
