A Walpole Island man is facing charges after an incident in Wallaceburg.

Police were called to a disturbance on Lisgar Street just before 8 last night and say the man was spotted dragging what appeared to be copper wire down the sidewalk.

The man allegedly tried to sell the wire to a business owner, who then called police. Authorities say the two got into a struggle and when the business owner tried to block the man’s path, the accused grabbed the victim and punched him twice.

The 33-year-old suspect was arrested and is charged with uttering threats and assault. He’ll face those charges in court next month.
