The area’s primary reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Army will be coming to Chatham-Kent council tonight making a presentation on their current fundraising campaign.
The Essex and Kent Scottish has a long and decorated history of over 200 years of service, with members fighting in World Wars, as well as sending troops for United Nations peacekeeping missions.
The regiment needs money because many regimental activities, such as representation at commemorative events and the regiment’s pipes and drums team are not funded by municipal, provincial or federal governments.
