COVID Outbreak Declared Over At CKHA

Public health officials have ended a COVID-19 outbreak at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

The hospital announced on Monday that an outbreak in the Medicine B Unit at the Chatham site is now over. The outbreak was first declared by Chatham-Kent Public Health on August 4 and was linked to ten cases of the virus.

“CKHA would like to thank CK Public Health for their guidance and support during this outbreak, and the hospital’s staff and physicians for their continued commitment to providing safe, high-quality care under these difficult circumstances,” hospital officials said in a news release.

Hospital officials said infection prevention and control measures, including mandatory masking, will remain in place at both CKHA sites.
