A dip in the number of new COVID cases in Chatham-Kent over the past week.

According to Public Health statistics, 65 new confirmed cases were identified through PCR testing between August 21st and the 27th, lowering the weekly average to 9 new high risk cases a day.

No new deaths have been reported and no further outbreaks declared.

Public Health continues to keep tabs on an outbreak at Riverview Gardens long term care facility in Chatham, where there have been 59 cases of COVID since August 8th.

Other outbreaks at a group home and Serenity Living in Blenheim have been declared over.

Chatham-Kent’s positivity rate has dipped to 10.9% compared to 13.7% a week ago. The provincial rate sits at 12.9%.
