After more than two years, the non-profit Chatham-Kent Film Group is making its return to the big screen.

Chair Angela Corso says Monday, September 12th, marks the first showing at Galaxy Cinemas in Chatham since before the pandemic.

“We are thrilled to be back to the Chatham-Kent  community to offer screenings of Canadian, international, and independent films,” Corso says. “We are part of the film circuit of the Toronto International Film Festival, which ironically starts this weekend.”

Films will be shown the first Monday of each month, starting with the 2021 German sci-fi romance film “I’m Your Man.”

“It’s directed by Maria Schrader, starring Maren Eggert, Dan Stevens and Sandra Hüller. It’s all about a woman who’s tasked with assessing a human-like robot designed to make her happy.”

The film is the official submission of Germany for the ‘Best International Feature Film’ category of the 94th Academy Awards in 2022.

There will be two showings, 4 and 7pm. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.

2020 season pass holders will be compensated for the remainder of their unfinished season with free movies now through December.
