Charges have been laid following an incident on Wellington Street in Chatham over the weekend.
Police allege a woman got out of her vehicle Saturday afternoon and without provocation, assaulted a woman walking her dog. The 71-year-old victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
As the accused was being taken into custody, authorities claim she kicked one of the officers.
The 40-year-old is now charged with assault, assaulting police, and breach of probation. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
