Officials at Lambton Public Health have issued an advisory with an increasing number of suspected drug-related deaths in the community.

Drug users and their caregivers are urged to never let someone use drugs alone and know the signs of an opioid overdose. That includes difficulty walking, talking, or staying awake; having blue or grey lips or nails, and cold and clammy skin, among other signs.

Free Naloxone kits are available from Lambton Public Health, local pharmacies, and several partner agencies including Community Health Centres.

If you suspect someone is experiencing an overdose, call 9-1-1, and know that the Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act protects you.
