A Chatham man is facing several charges after being arrested in connection with a shoplifting incident.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said on Wednesday at around 2 a.m., an officer on general patrol spotted a man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for shoplifting.

The man was arrested and authorities allege he was also in possession of a stolen bicycle from a recent break-and-enter.

In addition to charges stemming from the shoplifting incident, the 38-year-old accused is also charged with break-and-enter, possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000, and mischief under $5,000. He was released with a future court date.
