No injuries have been reported following an early morning fire in Wheatley.

Crews responded to an Elm Street property around 1:15 this morning and arrived to see smoke and flames coming from the back of the building.

Fire fighters from Tilbury were called in to help and the fire was brought under control.

Officials say working smoke alarms in the building allowed the residents to get out safely.

Damage is estimated at $175,000.
