Multiple charges have been laid following a break-in in Chatham.
Police were called to a business on Grand Avenue West just before 2 o’clock Sunday morning and say there had been multiple alarm calls in their storage trailers.
Officers arrived to find a man moving pallets from behind one of the trailers and was arrested at the scene. A second suspect ran and was found hiding underneath a home under construction on Lark Street.
Investigators say the pair had used a cordless grinder to cut the locks off four storage trailers and had taken about $10,000 worth of items. A rented U-Haul truck was found nearby, which police say the two men planned to use to take the stolen property away.
Two Windsor men are charged with four counts of break and enter, possession of break-in instruments, two counts of theft over $5000, and possession of stolen property over $5000.
